BIO

Juan F. Mendizabal Frers graduated as Lawyer from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and completed an LLM (Legis Magister) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, United States.

With 20 years of professional experience, corporate and law firms, he practiced and provided services in connection to general business legal aspects, in particular those related to business contracts, financial contracts and those related the agricultural farm inputs industry, including coordination and administration of intellectual property and global licenses.

Since 2016 he is part of the team of Fairhurst & Pisarenko, a boutique law firm which provides comprehensive legal solutions since 1931.

During the last 5 years he practiced and provided comprehensive services for the management, strategy, development, administration and resolution of conflicts for various companies, national and foreign, focused from a business perspective and the needs of each client. He has provided services, among other industries, to agricultural companies, renewable energy companies, consumer companies, biotechnology companies and real estate developers.

He held global management positions leading the relationships between the different work teams, developing an analytical vision for projected actions and contingencies related to each particular business, taking into account social and political reality to design and implement different strategies.

He was Legal Director of Intellectual Property and Licensing of the Seed Division of the Nidera Group, in charge of managing, structuring, coordinating and executing globally the legal aspects related to the protection of intellectual property and the licensing of plant genetics and biotechnology. Under this role he led and participated in the negotiation of technology and commercial agreements with the big global companies providers of agriculture technologies and inputs.

He actively participated in various Chambers of the agricultural industry, and from 2014 through 2016 he has been the designated alternate representative for the Breeders Sector in the National Seeds Commission (CONASE – Comision Nacional de Semillas), advisor organism to the National Ministry of Agriculture.

He stands out for being strongly analytical, oriented in efficiently projecting and developing each business in search of achieving the proposed results.
